Alto Rouge 2024

The first vintage of this iconic wine was crafted in 1922 and, after maturation to market-ready condition, was exported for sale to the United Kingdom. The success in the British market led to the wine being released in South Africa in 1933 and has been a South African classic ever since.

Colour: Dark ruby.

Bouquet: Charming and evocative aromas form the start, notes of cherry, sumac and charcuterie.

Taste: The bright palate is soaked in cherries and ripe raspberries with an umami undertone. The tannins are structured and firm. Composed, elegant yet powerful.

Food pairing: Beautiful on its own or paired with roast beef or sirloin, mushroom risotto, homemade burgers and the perfect accompaniment to a barbeque.
